In this session, Kerry Shearer, Communications & Media Officer from, Sacramento County Public Health, will cover what participants need to know to get started and new trends for 2009, and will provide resources to help use new media techniques in your organizations. This session will explode the myth that social marketing is about focus groups, messages and campaigns. The real power of social marketing lies in its ability to improve health services and co-create new public health products with citizens. The goal of these new products and services is to increase the benefits people want and decrease the barriers they think are important. [More] [Less]

The CDC RiskSmart(tm) system provides tools and training to enhance (measure, preserve and grow) stakeholder trust and safeguard (monitor, detect, assess, forestall) against threats to stakeholder trust. CDC RiskSmart(tm) training is a 3-hour introduction to these concepts and tools.

Session participants will explore the importance of maintaining personal and institutional credibility for mission success, learn to detect and assess threats to credibility using various tools, and learn the behavior risk points and ways to overcome credibility risks. [More] [Less]

Don Berreth founded the National Public Health Information Coalition (NPHIC) in his 14th year as director of the Office of Public Affairs for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. He died May 5, 1993 in Atlanta, Georgia, after a brief illness. On August 18, 2993, the NPHIC Executive Board Created The Donald A. Berreth Lecture as a lasting memorial. [More] [Less]
